These terms set out the rules for using AuthOwl's hosted authentication service, including what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you or the organization you represent ("Customer", "you") and AuthOwl ("AuthOwl", "we", "us"), a company based in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. By creating an account, accessing the dashboard, or integrating our SDK, you accept these Terms. If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that organization.
2. The service
AuthOwl is a hosted, multi-tenant authentication platform that lets you add sign-up, sign-in, multi-factor authentication, session management, and related identity features to your own applications through our APIs, SDKs, and hosted components. We may add, change, or remove features over time as the service evolves.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate registration details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API keys, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and legally able to enter into a contract to use AuthOwl.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to, or to permit anyone to:
- break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of others;
- send spam, phishing, or other abusive or fraudulent communications;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, other tenants, or their data;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without our written consent;
- overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law; or
- resell or expose the raw service as a competing authentication product.
5. Plans, fees and billing
Paid plans are billed in Egyptian Pounds (EGP). Prices are exclusive of value added tax (VAT), which is added at the applicable Egyptian rate of 14% where required. You may choose monthly or annual billing; annual plans are billed up front for the term. Metered items, such as SMS bundles, are charged in addition to your plan based on usage.
Fees are charged in advance and, except as set out in our Refund Policy, are non-refundable. If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and, after notice, suspend or downgrade your account. You are responsible for any taxes other than taxes on our income.
6. Customer data and your end-users
You retain all rights to the data you and your end-users submit to the service ("Customer Data"), including your end-users’ personal data. You are the controller of that personal data and AuthOwl processes it on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and process your end-users’ data and for your own privacy notices to them.
7. Intellectual property
AuthOwl and its licensors own the service, including its software, APIs, documentation, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the service except as expressly permitted, and you may not use our trademarks without our prior written consent.
8. Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available and performant, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, and we may modify or discontinue features. Where a change materially reduces core functionality of a paid plan, we will use reasonable efforts to give advance notice.
9. Suspension and termination
You may cancel your subscription at any time from the dashboard, with effect as described in our Refund Policy. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the service in a way that creates legal or security risk. We will give notice and an opportunity to cure where reasonable. On termination, your right to use the service ends and Customer Data is handled as set out in the DPA.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You are responsible for configuring the service appropriately for your use case.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to AuthOwl for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict of law rules. The courts of Cairo, Egypt have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
